In this episode, we begin with the wave mechanics approach of Erwin Schrodinger and work through the Fifth Solvay Conference held in October of 1927. We discuss the crisis that arose in the atomic physics community and the debate between the matrix mechanics of Werner Heisenberg and the wave mechanics of Schrodinger, concluding with the development of the Uncertainty Principle and the Copenhagen Interpretation.
